Rail Freight Workshop

Modal Shift to Rail
through Supply chain Collaboration for Efficiency and Sustainability

Logistics Research Network and Green Logistics Workshop

12 November 2009, University of Westminster, London

Given the complex issues related to mode choice decision making and, in the context of rail, the many different variables that influence its cost and performance, it is not always evident how modal shift to rail should be encouraged. However, one of the ways of achieving greater use of rail may be through supply chain collaboration to gain efficiency and sustainability improvements, and this formed the focus of this one day workshop.
